‘Deeds speak louder than words. Good deeds will be remembered forever.’ Justify
this statement.
Words alone cannot
demonstrate a person's greatness. A person may speak about kindness, courage

Good deeds have a lasting influence on individuals and society. Even after a
person dies, his or her noble actions may continue to inspire others. In “Death
the Leveller,” the poet reminds us that worldly power and achievements
disappear with death, whereas the good actions of the just remain memorable.
Therefore, our deeds are more powerful and lasting than our words.

Importance of Physical Exercise for Good Health’.
THE IMPORTANCE OF PHYSICAL EXERCISE FOR
GOOD HEALTH
Ajay Shivadas
Physical exercise is
essential for maintaining a healthy and active life. Regular exercise keeps our
body fit and also improves our mental well-being. Activities such as walking,
running, cycling, swimming and playing outdoor games can help us remain physically
active.
Exercise improves blood
circulation, strengthens muscles and bones and supports the proper functioning
of the heart and lungs. It can also improve concentration, reduce stress and
help us maintain healthy habits. During periods when people spend more time at
home, regular physical activity becomes especially important.
Students should include
some form of exercise in their daily routine. Along with a balanced diet,
adequate sleep and good habits, exercise contributes greatly to a healthy
lifestyle. Therefore, physical activity should not be considered merely a
leisure activity but an essential part of everyday life.

33. Write a travel essay about a hill
station visited during the summer holidays.
Munnar
– A Mesmerising Hill Station
Last summer, I visited Munnar,
one of the most beautiful hill stations in Kerala. I travelled there with my
family during the holidays. The journey itself was exciting because we passed
through winding roads, green valleys, waterfalls and beautiful mountain
landscapes.
Munnar welcomed us with a
pleasant and cool climate. The vast tea plantations covering the hills were the
most attractive sight. The green landscape looked like a beautiful carpet
spread across the mountains. We visited Eravikulam National Park, where we had
the opportunity to see the famous Nilgiri Tahr. We also visited Echo Point and
enjoyed hearing our voices return from the surrounding hills.
The waterfalls,
mist-covered mountains and beautiful gardens added to the charm of the place.
The trip gave us an opportunity to enjoy nature away from the noise of city
life. When we finally returned home, we carried many beautiful memories with
us. Munnar remains one of the most unforgettable places I have ever visited.

Write a letter to the Editor on the advantages and disadvantages of Internet
use by children.
From,
Ajay Thomas
Malappuram
8 October 2026
To,
The Editor
The Hindu
Calicut
Sir/Madam,
Subject: Advantages and Disadvantages of
Internet Use by Children
Through
the columns of your esteemed newspaper, I wish to draw attention to the
increasing use of the Internet by children.
The
Internet provides children with numerous educational opportunities. They can
access online classes, digital libraries, educational videos, dictionaries and
other learning resources. It also helps them communicate and develop digital
skills that are useful in modern life.
However,
excessive and uncontrolled Internet use can create serious problems. Children
may become addicted to mobile phones and spend less time studying, playing
outdoors or interacting with family members. Excessive screen time can also
affect sleep and concentration. There are also risks associated with
inappropriate online content, cyberbullying and contact with strangers.
Parents
and teachers should therefore guide children in using the Internet responsibly.
Children should be encouraged to use digital devices mainly for useful purposes
and should be given reasonable limits on screen time.
I
hope your newspaper will create greater awareness about responsible Internet
use among children.
Yours
faithfully,
Ajay Thomas
35. Prepare a speech on ‘Problems Faced by
Women in Our Society’.
Problems
Faced by Women in Our Society
Respected teachers and my
dear friends,
Good morning to everyone.
Today, on the occasion of Women’s Day, I would like to speak about the problems
faced by women in our society.
Women have made
remarkable achievements in education, science, politics, sports and many other
fields. Yet many women continue to face discrimination and inequality. Gender
discrimination, domestic violence, harassment, unequal educational
opportunities, child marriage and dowry-related problems continue to affect
many women.
Women should have equal
opportunities in education, employment and decision-making. Society must
respect their dignity and freedom. Parents should encourage girls to study,
become independent and pursue their ambitions. Laws against violence and
discrimination must also be properly implemented.
Women are not weak or
inferior. They are equal partners in building families, communities and
nations. Let us work together to create a society where every woman can live
safely, confidently and with dignity.
Thank you.
36. Write an article on ‘Be Prepared to
Face Any Disaster’.
BE
PREPARED TO FACE ANY DISASTER
Staff Reporter
Kerala has experienced
several natural and health-related disasters in recent years, including floods,
landslides and epidemics. These experiences have taught us that disaster
preparedness is essential for protecting human lives and property.
The first step towards
disaster preparedness is awareness. People should know the risks in their
locality and understand what they should do during emergencies. Schools and
colleges should provide students with basic disaster-management training. Mock
drills can help people learn how to respond quickly and safely.
Local authorities should
maintain effective warning systems and emergency services. Communities should
also develop trained volunteer groups capable of helping people during
disasters. Special attention should be given to children, elderly people and
those who need additional support.
Every individual has a
responsibility to remain prepared and help others during emergencies. Proper
planning, awareness, cooperation and timely action can greatly reduce the
impact of disasters. Preparedness is therefore the key to saving lives and
rebuilding communities.
37. Write a seminar paper on ‘The
Relevance of Gandhian Values in the Present Time’.
THE
RELEVANCE OF GANDHIAN VALUES IN THE PRESENT TIME
Good morning respected
teachers and dear friends,
Today I would like to
present my paper on “The Relevance of Gandhian Values in the Present Time.”
Mahatma Gandhi was a
great leader who believed in truth, non-violence, equality, tolerance and
communal harmony. His principles played an important role in India's freedom
struggle. Although the world has changed greatly, his values continue to have
relevance.
Violence and intolerance
are still major problems in society. Gandhian principles of non-violence and
peaceful dialogue can help people resolve conflicts without hatred. His
commitment to truth reminds us of the importance of honesty in personal and
public life. His message of communal harmony is especially significant in a
world where people are sometimes divided by religion, language, caste and other
differences.
Gandhi also taught us the
value of simple living, self-discipline, dignity of labour and service to
others. These principles can help us build a more peaceful and responsible
society.
Therefore, Gandhian
values are not outdated. They remain useful guidelines for creating a society
based on truth, peace, equality and mutual respect.
Thank you.
38. Read the poem ‘Success is Counted
Sweetest’ and write an appreciation.
Appreciation
of “Success is Counted Sweetest”
“Success is Counted Sweetest” is a thought-provoking
poem by Emily Dickinson. The poem presents the idea that success is understood
most deeply by those who have experienced failure or have been deprived of it.
According to the poet, a person who has never achieved success can understand
its value more intensely than someone who possesses it easily.
The poet compares success with nectar, suggesting that
it is extremely precious and desirable. She then uses the image of a
battlefield. The victorious soldiers holding the flag cannot understand victory
as deeply as the defeated and dying soldier who hears the distant sounds of
triumph. The dying soldier understands the true value of victory because he has
struggled desperately for it.
The poem contains effective poetic devices such as metaphor,
imagery, alliteration and symbolism. The “nectar” symbolises the sweetness of
success, while the battlefield represents the struggle between success and
failure. The simple language and powerful imagery make the poem memorable.
The central message is that the value of success is
best understood by those who have experienced the pain of failure and the
longing for achievement.
